Grand Slam Fishing Packages
Our Grand Slam Fly or Light Tackle Fishing Packages are designed for the serious angler who also enjoys the comforts of a modern, luxury resort. Angling is the central component of our packages with UNLIMITED DAILY FISHING in the Port Honduras Cayes Marine Reserve, Payne’s Creek National Park (Punta Ycacos Lagoon), and the Sapodilla Cayes Marine Reserve. These areas are world famous tarpon, bonefish, and permit fisheries!
Family Fishing Packages
Robert’s Grove is perfect for family vacations where one or more family members is a dedicated angler. World-class fly and light tackle fishing is available for anglers, while non-fishing family members have a diverse range of options including diving, snorkeling, naturalist, and archaeology tours! If the anglers desire, bring your family along! They can snorkel off an island while you fish, or enjoy the action from the boat! That is what our Family Fishing Packages are all about, pleasing the entire family and experiencing the angling you enjoy.
Out Island Fishing Package
New to Robert’s Grove this year is a pioneering fishing package unavailable anywhere else in Belize! Robert’s Grove is offering the serious angler a fishing package that includes three locations, “maximizing the fishing experience.” By having anglers share their time at Robert’s Grove, Ranguana Caye, and Robert’s Caye, our out island package delivers a diversity of ‘on location’ fishing like no one else! Whether you are hunting tarpon and permit in Port Honduras & Ycacos Lagoon, bonefish and permit in the Sapodilla Cayes, or bonefish and offshore species like black fin tuna and skipjack at Ranguana Caye and Gladden split, you are always close to home!
Our Out Island Fishing Package provides anglers with the opportunity to explore southern Belize’s extensive fisheries from Robert’s Grove for three nights (first two and last) and two nights at Robert’s Caye and Ranguana Caye on the Barrier Reef. Although not as luxurious as Robert’s Grove, both of our island fishing camps are private islands with comfortable accommodations, hearty fare, and fishing right off the islands!! Wade for bonefish at Ranguana Caye, and permit and bones at Robert’s Caye. You will be ‘on location’!
As usual, the angling is UNLIMITED and guides will stay with guests on the islands to maximize the fishing opportunities. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the best of southern Belize, just outside your out island doorstep!

The Fishing Center at Robert's Grove is stocked with a full supply of fly, spin, and trolling rods.
We have tackle for spin and trolling equipment and a wide variety of fly fishing tackle, including flies, lines, leaders, and tippet material
Use of the Inn's three pools, tennis court, canoes, kayaks, windsurfers, sailboats, Hobie Kats, gym, rooftop Jacuzzis, and bicycles

Recommended Fishing Tackle (click here)
The primary sport fish that live on the flats — bonefish, permit, and tarpon — around The Inn are built for speed and endurance. Make sure your reels have at least 200 yards of backing. If you’ve never caught a bonefish before — and they’re plentiful around here — imagine hooking a world-class sprinter by the back of the shorts. Placencia is rightfully called “the permit capital of the world,” and permit and tarpon can test your tackle (and your nerves!) to their limits.
Another absolute must: polarized sunglasses in either a copper or amber tint. Your guide will be able to spot fish, but it helps him — and your chances of success — if you can see them, too.
Bonefish Rods: 7-9 weight Leaders: 6- to 10-pound test, 9 to 12 feet in length Flies: Crazy Charlies, Gotchas and Clouser Minnows in tan, pink, white, and green. Sizes 4 through 8. Small crab patterns are highly effective as well.
Permit Rods: 8-10 weight Leaders: 12- to 20-pound test, 9 to 12 feet in length Flies: Merkin, Raghead and Turneffe-style patterns sizes 1/0 to 6 in tans, browns, and greens
Tarpon Rods: 10-12 weight Leaders: Shock tippets of 60 to 100 pounds, with 16- to 20-pound class tippet Flies: Standard Keys-style flies, like the Cockroach and Apte-type patterns, and Tarpon Bunnies, sizes 2/0 to 4/0. Surf Candies, Clousers, Lefty’s Deceivers and Whistlers can be effective as well. Try darker colors in low light and brighter colors during mid-day.
For toothy critters like barracuda, sharks, and assorted reef fish, don’t forget some wire leader.
